GTA Online And Other Xbox 360 Games Are Free To Play Online From October 4-6
Although “Grand Theft Auto Online” is experiencing some technical difficulties with its servers crashing under the weight of all of the users trying to experience the online mayhem for the first time, Xbox is not deterred by the influx of people and is even going to add a bit more to the load when it offers free Xbox Live Gold for all Xbox 360 players this weekend.
For those who feel like their Silver subscription just isn’t cutting it, they can hop online and play multiplayer on any games they choose online from Friday Oct. 4 through Sunday Oct. 6, according to IGN. While the subscription isn’t necessarily tied to GTA Online, it coincides perfectly with the release of Rockstar Games’ push to bring its massive open world to a multiplayer environment.
If you aren’t a “Grand Theft Auto” fan, perhaps you’d be more comfortable trying out multiplayer on a different game like “Call of Duty: Black Ops II.”
Major Nelson notes that the free weekend is specific to what region you’re in. Down the line, other territories will have free access to a weekend of Xbox Live Gold membership as well. The official breakdown looks like this:
