Because of its “end-to-end” redesign, the next-generation Mac OS X will have more space at this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference, sources familiar with the matter tell 9to5Mac, as Apple wants to promote the new operating system to developers.
Codenamed “Syrah” after the wine, Mac OS X 10.10 will have similar design elements to iOS, but Apple will keep the two operating systems as separate entities.

Following a Mail update for Mavericks in November, Apple today released OS X 10.9.1, an update that contains stability and compatibility enhancements for Mac computers.

The shopping season traditionally kicks off with Black Friday, and Apple is joining the line of major retailers which will open earlier than usual. According to MacRumors‘ sources, Apple had plans to open some stores on Thanksgiving Day itself, but Tim Cook rejected these plans, saying that employees should stay with their families on the national holiday.

Whenever a new OS is released on any platform, there usually lies a series of hidden gems and goodies within, and OS X Mavericks, which released earlier on this week at Apple’s special iPad event, is no exception to the rule.
